Allow your child to fall in
LOVE with SPORTS.
What we Aren't.
It seems like every year, more and more kids are asked to specialize in a ONE sport at an early age. Sometimes, these children will participate in sport seasons that are far too advanced for their mental and physical developmental levels. With competitive practices & games, rigorous try outs, and steep equipment costs, families are left wondering... "is this the only way?"
On the reverse side, there are programs in every city and town that offer ONE sport, for a certain amount of time that might span across school districts, ages and genders. Parents are asked to volunteer coach the entirety of the program, and kids leave at the end of the season with little skill development & will enter into another program the following month or year with a blank slate of teammates, coaches & relationships.
THIS DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THE WAY!
Parents, break free from the mold of what society is telling you is right for your child when it comes to sports. Don't allow your children to feel burn out or dread heading to practice... that's not what sports should ever be! Sports should energize your child. Sports should help build their confidence, fundamentals & skills. Sports should help build work ethic and foster teamwork & relationships. SPORTS SHOULD BE FUN.
What we ARE
Teamwork. Skill Building. Hard work. Fun.
We have a passion for helping children find JOY through sports. We believe that introducing kids to a variety of sports in an engaging & age appropriate way allows them to quickly identify where they excel and where their natural talent lies. It also allows them to gain exposure to new things without committing to an extensive, expensive & competitive season when they're not quite ready to commit at that level.
What we BELIEVE
1. Sports should be fun.
2. Practices should be engaging & age appropriate.
3. Friends should be teammates & teammates should be friends.
4. School Districts, genders & ages all MATTER when it comes to building teams.
5. Parents should foster and support the EXPERIENCE of ISL.
6. Parents should work to build relationships with other parents on the team.
6. Snacks. Lots and lots of SNACKS.
